Tapfiliate Alternative

Tapfiliate vs Syndicate Links

Tapfiliate is built for click-based affiliate tracking. Syndicate Links is built for AI agent publishers that need signed attribution without browser events.

Tapfiliate vs Syndicate Links

Tapfiliate is an affiliate tracking platform for merchants who need click-based attribution, a clean dashboard, and a self-managed publisher program. It works well when publishers share referral links, buyers click them, and conversion tracking runs through browser cookies (or server-to-server postbacks).

Syndicate Links addresses a different problem: attribution for AI agents that refer buyers through autonomous recommendations, without clicking links or triggering browser events. There is also a practical pricing difference worth understanding before you pick a plan: Tapfiliate's headline subscription is only half the picture once click and conversion overages kick in.

Tapfiliate: click-based affiliate tracking

Tapfiliate gives merchants a self-contained affiliate program with no network fees or marketplace dependencies. You own the publisher relationships and track performance directly.

The platform covers the standard affiliate program workflow:

  • Referral link generation and click tracking
  • Conversion attribution via browser cookies and S2S/postback integrations
  • Multi-level commission support
  • Publisher dashboard where affiliates log in to check performance and access materials
  • Affiliate payment methods (including automated payouts on Scale via Trolley)
  • Integrations with Shopify, WooCommerce, BigCommerce, Stripe, and 30+ other platforms

Monthly billing is available on Launch and Scale. Annual plans discount the monthly-equivalent rate (two months free on the annual commitment). For growing programs, the overage rows matter more than the headline subscription: both clicks and conversions have separate overage fees that stack on top of the base plan.

The attribution model is still click- and cookie-centered (with traditional S2S postbacks). Tapfiliate's own feature comparison table lists AI Agent Integration (MCP) as Coming soon. That is a roadmap signal, not a shipped product. As of July 2026, there is no public agent-native credential, signed attribution token, or conversion path that works when the "publisher" is an AI agent with no browser session.

Syndicate Links: attribution infrastructure for AI agent publishers

Syndicate Links tracks conversions that never touch a browser. The core use case is AI agent publishers: a user asks their AI assistant which SaaS tool to use, the agent evaluates options and makes a recommendation, the user buys. That referral should be attributed and compensated. Cookie windows and click caps do not cover it.

The tracking mechanism is different from cookie-based attribution by design:

  • aff_agent_ keys issued to AI agent publishers as cryptographic identifiers
  • slat_v1 tokens (SLAT - Syndicate Links Attribution Token) signed with HMAC-SHA256, encoding the agent identity, the recommended product, and a timestamp
  • When payment occurs via x402, the SLAT token is embedded as an atxp_reference in the payment proof, so attribution is verified at the transaction rather than reconciled afterward
  • MCP server is live (npx syndicate-links-mcp), not a "coming soon" row

For programs not running AI agent publishers yet, the practical differences are simpler: no click overage fees, no conversion overage fees, platform fee based on commissions paid (not traffic volume), server-side webhooks for SaaS trial-to-paid events, and payout rails beyond the usual affiliate payout stack.

When Tapfiliate is the right choice

Tapfiliate makes sense when:

  • Your affiliate program is human-publisher and click-based, and that is the only channel you need
  • Your click and conversion volume fits inside Launch or Scale included caps, so overages stay small
  • You want a focused self-contained dashboard with strong ecommerce integrations and no commission override
  • You are fine waiting on MCP / agent integration rather than shipping agent publishers today

When Syndicate Links is the right choice

Syndicate Links makes sense when:

  • Your traffic is growing and click or conversion overage fees would add material cost
  • You want attribution priced on commissions paid, not on click/conversion volume
  • You are integrating AI agents as publishers, or you need tracking that works without a browser session
  • You need payout rails beyond the standard affiliate stack (Lightning, USDC on Base, Stripe)
  • You are a SaaS company tracking trial-to-paid or subscription renewal commissions server-side
  • You want attribution embedded in the payment transaction rather than reconciled after a cookie window
  • You need agent/MCP support that is live now, not listed as "Coming soon"

Frequently asked questions

Does Syndicate Links charge per click or per conversion?

No. Attribution events fire on payment confirmation, not click volume or conversion counts. There are no click caps, conversion caps, or overage fees. Merchants pay a platform fee on commissions paid out (5% on Starter, 2.5% on Pro, with volume discounts).

Can Tapfiliate track AI agent referrals today?

Not as a shipped product. As of July 2026, Tapfiliate's public pricing/feature table lists AI Agent Integration (MCP) as Coming soon. The live product is still oriented around referral links, cookies, and traditional S2S postbacks. Referrals from AI assistants or autonomous agents with no browser session are not covered by that model today. Syndicate Links ships native agent credentials, signed SLAT tokens, and an MCP server.

Is monthly billing available on Tapfiliate?

Yes. Launch is $89/month and Scale is $179/month when billed monthly. Annual billing drops those to $74/month ($890/year) and $149/month ($1,790/year). The flexibility gap is not "monthly vs annual only." It is overage structure and agent support.

Is Syndicate Links more expensive than Tapfiliate at scale?

Depends on the math. Tapfiliate charges $89-$179/month (or annual equivalents) plus click overages and conversion overages once you leave the included caps. Syndicate Links charges $0-$79/month plus 2.5-5% of commissions paid, with no traffic overages. For programs with high click/conversion volume and moderate commission payouts, Syndicate Links often comes out cheaper. For programs with low traffic and high commission payouts, Tapfiliate's zero platform fee can be competitive. Run the numbers on our pricing page.
